The Davenport Rim Firewise project will begin with a 20-foot clearing of easily combustible brush and bushes in the greenbelt surrounding the north, west, and south boundaries of the neighborhood, behind the fences of Units 1-27 (“Shaded Fuel Break” phase). This clearing will begin this coming Wednesday, March 18, weather permitting, beginning behind Unit 1 and finishing behind Unit 27 several days later. The purpose of this phase is to clear easily combustible materials (mainly dead and decaying foliage and undergrowth, 4” in diameter and smaller) from the area behind our neighborhood property. Included in this phase will be the trimming of unit-overhanging limbs that could cause a fire to easily jump to a unit’s deck or building. This phase will not remove any live trees or impact shade trees (e.g., cedars, oaks) in any way. This project will not significantly impact our HOA’s long-term reserves, nor lead to an assessment or increase in monthly dues. This is a neighborhood-protective project that will benefit all owners.
