DR Board Announces New Lawn Maintenance Company

At its May 2021 meeting, the Davenport Rim HOA Board of Directors decided not to renew the lawn maintenance contract of Brightview Commercial Landscape Company. After receiving four bids, and interviewing three new companies, the Board chose Yellowstone Landscape as our new lawn maintenance/irrigation company. Brightview will continue its current contract services through July 31, 2021, and Yellowstone will begin on August 1, 2021. That first week will include a kick-off meeting with Yellowstone’s Business Development Officer, new Account Manager, and the HOA Board. Plans have been made for a hand-off of irrigation review and procedures between our Brightview irrigation manager and our new Yellowstone irrigation manager. We will be informing our owners of any changes in irrigation or mowing schedules and procedures, although we expect there will be few changes.

Also, during its last meeting, the Board decided to a) seek some immediate help from a professional gardener to upgrade the main entrance plants and shrubs, and b) to obtain an agreement with Bartlett Tree Experts for regime tree care planning and maintenance. Bartlett is one of the leading arboricultural companies in Austin (https://www.bartlett.com/). Bartlett is also available to individual owners for advice on the care, removal, and replacement of front and backyard trees, and their estimates are free. Our Bartlett Account Manager will be Nick Crowther, who has exceptional knowledge of tree types, the care of trees and shrubs, and has been of enormous help in advising current neighbors about the status of neighborhood trees after the February and May storms. Bartlett's removal of 21 of our dead trees is currently scheduled for the week of August 2, weather permitting.

We hope and expect that these major commercial care additions to Davenport Rim will provide the expertise and handling of the landscaping and irrigation that our neighborhood needs and deserves.
