FRONT YARD DEADLINES AND TREE REPLACEMENT INFORMATION

Davenport Rim Owners: Based upon a Board announcement on June 19, this is a reminder of the remaining deadlines for February and May 2021 storm damage restoration of front yards in Davenport Rim.

October 15 – Board will inspect the regime to determine adherence to the Front Yard Policy (found under Documents on our neighborhood website, www.2800waymaker.com), with feedback to owners regarding “in compliance” or “needing further work”.

November 15 – Deadline for all yards to be in compliance with Front Yard Policy, with monthly fines being imposed for non-compliance.

The pre-inspection of front yards has recently been completed by the Board, and only a few units have remaining dead trees/shrubs. Those units have received notices that they must be removed as soon as possible.

The Board has already done its part in cleaning up the common areas and removing dead traditional trees (mostly lacebark elms) in unit front yards. Now is the time for owners to make sure their front yards are in “good shape” by complying with the Front Yard Policy.

Tree Replacement Plans

The dead traditional trees already removed by Bartlett Tree have stumps remaining. You may find one in your front yard. The Board plans to remove those stumps (grinding into mulch) and plant new lacebark elms in the areas near those stumps, based upon recommendations from our certified arborists. At this time, we anticipate that our budget reserves are sufficient to cover the cost of these replacements.

In a few instances, an owner may wish to NOT have a replacement tree added to their front yard, based upon overcrowding by already existing trees or other circumstances. If you DO NOT wish to have a replacement tree, please let Pioneer (psmeisler@aol.com) know by October 8. The reason for replacement of lacebark elms is to restore the total look of our neighborhood (proper canopy over the road, colorful spring trees, etc.) toward what it looked like before the storms.

Thanks for your cooperation on this important matter, and for your commitment to a beautiful community!
