GOOGLE FIBER INTERNET SURVEY
Some of your neighbors have asked that we request Google fiber to provide internet service to Davenport Rim, via a multiple dwelling unit form. Our neighborhood currently has only Spectrum and AT&T cable.
This is a survey to determine if you would be interested in having the Association send a request to Google to install its cable internet service in Davenport Rim. We are aware that Google fiber cable already exists along Waymaker Way and Canonero Drive, but so far they have no plans to install it in our neighborhood, according to recent inquiries by our neighbors.
Assuming the pros and cons listed below, please respond to your neighbor Yash Gad, Unit 7, yash.gad@gmail.com, no later than Monday, February 22, 5 pm. A non-response will be counted as “Not interested”.
This is not a commitment, only an expression of interest.
a. not interested
b. definitely interested
c. yes, dependent on internet speed, cost to owners, cost to the HOA, and customer service reviews (please specify which of those issues would impact your decision)
Please feel free to provide other relevant comments to Mr. Gad when you respond.
Pros and Cons:
Pros for Google Internet users working from home:
1. another internet option as compared to Spectrum and AT&T
2. faster internet speed
3. less expensive than Spectrum or AT&T
Cons about Google that may be concerning:
1. With regard to ditching work in yards and pavement, the HOA would
have to pay for any inadequate or incomplete common area grass or
road pavement work. (Previous Google contractors have provided
shoddy restoration of the surfaces after cable burying in the past,
particularly along Canonero Drive.)
2. Google is no longer offering TV service, as of February, 2020
