Street Resealing in the Rim Begins Soon!
The Board has contracted with Alpha Paving to reseal our neighborhood’s private road, as we do about every 3 years.
The process begins tomorrow (Tuesday, April 19) about 8 am with crack filling of the road between our north and south entrances as well as throughout the neighborhood. Here is the crackfill information:
“The crackfill can be driven over shortly after we apply it, so impact to your traffic should be minimal. This will be a 4 - 6 man crew with a truck and the crackfill trailer.”
The tentative dates for resealing that will impact units are:
Thursday 5/5 - Phase 1 seal coat
Monday 5/9 - Phase 2 seal coat
Monday 5/16 - Phase 3 seal coat
Tuesday 5/17 - Phase 4 seal coat
Wednesday 5/18 - Fire Lanes striping and stenciling
Notice that this year we have been able to schedule the sealing dates to avoid trash pickup days (Fridays), and to have minimal impact on owners parking and leaving their homes. Here is some information from the company:
“We (will) have 4 phases that will require about 5 hours each to apply the seal coat. The remainder of the day (5 hours approximately) will be cure time. We are requesting each phase to be closed to traffic from 8am - 6pm to give as much time as possible for curing before we open for traffic. Trash the following day should not be an issue. If there are any areas that are heavily shaded that are not fully cured by 6pm, we will leave those areas coned off. Weather is a big factor for seal coating with such short windows of time. If there is overcast or rain we will need to reschedule accordingly.”
The units to be affected in each phase will be announced within a week or so. We will provide details on when and where affected unit owners can park. Mail pick-up delivery and accessibility should not be a problem. However, we will heavily enforce Fed Ex, UPS, and other delivery trucks from driving on the newly sealed areas, with appropriate signage, etc.
The Board realizes that residents have many questions, and we are aware of the disruptions and concerns with resealing in the past. We will work hard to lessen the impact on your daily activities, and will try to answer as many questions as we can in upcoming announcements.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and patience during this process.
